Our Site is a static, informational marketing website. It has no user accounts, no login, no shopping cart or online checkout, no online payment processing, and no online booking system. All bookings and inquiries are handled by phone or email. Because of this, the amount of personal information we collect through the Site is very limited, as described below.
Information We Collect
Information you voluntarily provide. When you contact us by phone or email to ask questions or arrange a hunt, you may choose to share information such as your name, phone number, email address, mailing address, the dates or type of hunt you are interested in, the number of hunters in your party, and any other details you decide to include in your message. You are not required to provide this information to browse the Site, but we do need it to respond to you and to arrange services.
Information collected automatically. Like nearly all websites, when you visit the Site certain technical information may be collected automatically by our hosting and security provider and by any privacy-friendly analytics we use. This may include:
- Your Internet Protocol (IP) address and approximate, city- or region-level location derived from it;
- General device and browser information (such as device type, browser type, and operating system);
- The pages you view, referring website, and the date and time of your visit.
We do not use this Site to knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or other sensitive personal information. Please do not send us sensitive information through unencrypted email.
Cookies and tracking. The Site sets essentially no cookies at launch and does not use advertising, cross-site tracking, or third-party marketing cookies. Any cookies present are limited to those strictly necessary to deliver the Site securely and reliably (for example, security or load-balancing functions provided by our hosting provider).
Analytics. We may use a privacy-friendly, cookieless web analytics service (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand aggregate Site traffic and performance. If used, this type of analytics does not set cookies, does not track you across other websites, does not build advertising profiles, and does not sell your data. It reports information in aggregate, such as page views and general visitor trends.
How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about hunts, availability, and services;
- Arrange, confirm, and follow up on bookings you request by phone or email;
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or misuse; and
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate the Site and our business, and only as needed for them to perform services for us. These may include:
- Hosting and content delivery / security: Cloudflare (website hosting, content delivery network, and security). Technical data such as your IP address is processed by Cloudflare to deliver and protect the Site.
- Email provider: the provider we use to send and receive email may process your messages and contact details so we can communicate with you. [TO BE COMPLETED: name of email provider, if you wish to disclose it]
- Analytics provider: if we use privacy-friendly analytics, the provider processes aggregate, cookieless usage data on our behalf.
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, subpoena, or legal process, or when we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
Third-Party Services and Links
The Site may link to third-party websites or resources (for example, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, licensing services, weather services, or social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Data Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including responding to your inquiry, providing services you request, and meeting our legal, tax, accounting, or recordkeeping obligations. Email correspondence and inquiry records are generally retained for a reasonable period consistent with our business needs and applicable law. [TO BE COMPLETED: specific retention period for inquiry/booking records, if you wish to state one] Automatically collected technical logs are typically retained for a short period by our hosting and analytics providers.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Our Site is served over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and we rely on reputable providers such as Cloudflare for hosting and security. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use care when sending information by email, which is not a fully secure channel.
Children’s Privacy
The Site and our services are intended for adults. Guided hunting is an age-restricted, adult-oriented activity, and the Site is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age applies under applicable law). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Minors may only participate in hunts under the supervision and with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, as described in our Hunting Disclaimer, Booking & Cancellation Terms.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and the laws that apply to you, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. Because we collect very little personal information through this Site, some of these rights may have limited application.
Texas residents (Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, “TDPSA,” effective 2024). Subject to the conditions and exceptions in the TDPSA, Texas residents may have the right to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal data and access that data;
- Correct inaccuracies in your personal data;
- Delete personal data you provided or that we obtained about you;
- Obtain a portable copy of personal data you provided, where applicable; and
- Opt out of the processing of your personal data for targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or certain profiling.
We do not sell personal data, do not use it for targeted advertising, and do not engage in profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects. If you submit a request, we may need to verify your identity before responding.
Other jurisdictions. If you are a resident of a U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law (such as California) or a location subject to laws like the EU/UK GDPR, you may have similar rights, including rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We honor applicable rights and do not discriminate against you for exercising them.
How to exercise your rights.To make a request, contact us using the information in the “Contact Us” section below. If we deny a request, you may have the right to appeal; to appeal, reply to our decision and we will reconsider. [TO BE COMPLETED: confirm appeal process and any additional state-required disclosures with your attorney]
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, the Site does not currently respond to DNT signals. As noted above, the Site does not perform cross-site tracking or targeted advertising regardless.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
